Although we beekeepers put in a hard days work, in particular when spring is in full swing, our efforts are insignificant when compared to a single honeybees journey from one blossom to the next, often miles from the hive. Living and working with honeybees has given us real reverence for our creator who created this most industrious insect. Throughout history, honey and beeswax has played an important part in the well being of people all over the world.
An Ancient Formula
2000 years ago the Greek physician, Galen, formulated one of the first cosmetics known to man. It was a cold cream made from Beeswax, known as Ceratum Refrigerans (cooling ointment). Galen found that when this cream was applied to the face, the skin was softened due to the oils in the emulsion and cooled due to the evaporation of the water.
Why Beeswax?
Obtained from the honeycomb of the honeybee, beeswax is truly a natural product. It is widely known that beeswax is used in many fine cosmetics: however, with other skin creams, beeswax is used sparingly and it's potential as an emollient is locked up.
With our beeswax skin cream we unlock the full emollient properties of the beeswax itself, though not exactly the same as Galen's formula back in 150 A.D., we are certain he'd have been our best customer!
For Soft Skin
Our beeswax emollient cream softens skin and, in time, will create a flexible smooth surface and even soften fine lines. Our cream is very effective in preventing dryness and offers relief from dryness. It also protects the skin from sun damage (though not a sun screen) and damage due to make-up and other synthetic chemicals on the skin. It will eliminate rough and flaky skin.
Effective Barrier Agent
To protect the skin from chemicals and detergents, our beeswax skin cream is an excellent barrier agent. Used by printers and others who come in contact with irritating chemicals, grease and ink, our cream acts as a protective agent, is non-irritating, easy to apply and remove and relatively imperceptible on the skin
